Thought so ! They did a great job. Might have to do an Electric one.

I added a 1/32" washer under the bottom stand-offs to get the prop shaft in the center of the cowl opening. Shouldn't bother it at all.

Is there room to plug the mounting holes and move the engine up 1/4". The reason I ask is because the 42% AeroWorks Ulty I received had the same issue after mounting the engine as per their firewall markings. I remounted the engine higher on that plane.

Thanks Jack

There was no need to redrill the firewall. I added the 1/32" was at the bottom of the stand-offs and that brought the spinner up to where it needs to be. I/32" doen't sound like much but the further out you go the bigger that dimension gets.

What about having upthrust then? It obviously moved it up 1/4" at the prop and above the horizontal thrust line on the plane and with that type of wing it may not be good.

Unless for some reason your firewall wasn't installed properly.

Beautiful looking plane though.

wingburner,

I think I was wrong on what I said. If you look at the pic there is a 1/8" gap at the bottom and a 3/8" gap at the top. That is 1/4" difference. But If I move the prop shaft up 1/8" it's in the center. So in reality I was really only 1/8" off.

In my opinion it will be much easier if you enlarge the screw holes that hold the cowl in the fuse and move the cowling up to center the prop hub instead of changing the thrust without been fly the plane yet. Just enlarge the holes in the cowling a little bit and adjust the cowl at your needs.

I changed my mind and decided to plug the holes in the firewall and redrill them to get everything in the correct position. Haven't had much time to work on the cub lately as I have a couple plumbing problems to tend to.

Re: *Aeroworks New 50cc S2 Sport Cub*

After re-drilling the holes in the firewall and trial fitting the engine I finally got it mounted where the spinner lines up really good and no added shims under the stand-offs. I painted the firewall with two coats of white primmer before installing the engine for the last time. I also got the EI mounted and the throttle servo and linkage all in place. I'm not sure yet if I can get the correct linkage hookup on the choke to use a servo. May have to use a manual setup.

Re: *Aeroworks New 50cc S2 Sport Cub*

I got most of the cub finished today. I still have to put the decals on, buy some more servo extensions, and tweak it here and there. I did set up a manual choke instead of using a servo. I still need to figure out how to setup the flaps as all but one channel is being used. This plane is going to be a job to put together at the field.

Looks Great! I can't wait to hear how it flys. If you have to you can use a reversing Y harness. I don't think the flaps will pull too much juice.
