Here's one cure to prevent stock Fiji caps from becoming cracked, and leaky;

BEFORE you do anything to a brand new bottle, the VERY FIRST THING you do is to make two alignment marks from the cap -to- the bottle neck. Use/drain the bottle. Do all your mods to the bottle & cap. Then when it's time to put the cap back on, tighten NO FARTHER than the alignment marks!

Ya gotta figure, that if the bottle wasn't leaking when new, it shouldn't after we 'mod' them, following the above procedure.

-or-

Purchase one of PSPMFG's replacement caps listed above.

To each their own, ymmv, etc.

Just a quick PSP update:

For you guys that have been wanting to convert your fleet over to water bottle style fuel tanks but have putting it off because of costs, PSPMFG is now offering a reduced price of approximately 14% per component if you purchase in bulk of 4. That includes any combination of aluminum caps and single or double barb fittings. Check out the website for the new price list...!!!

http://pspmfg.com/FijiAluminumwaterbottlefueltankcap.html

John also has 1/8" 60 duro Viton tubing in bulk stock now, still working on the price and listing on the site.

Thanks guys! I did it because a couple months back I went looking through the original msg thread.....

https://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=38890

.....looking for links to parts to make my own Fiji water bottle fuel tank. But such info was spread out helter skelter. It gave me a headache just browsing that thread to make up my list of links. Going on 194 pages, twas a big headache too.

Scott, cool that PSPMFG is making 'kits' available!

All the parts needed in one kit to add to the builder supplied Fiji or similar bottle. There will be three kit sizes 16oz, 32oz and 50oz with appropriate length tubing for each. Price and availability to be announced soon but expected to come in just a bit more than the cap and fittings combo already on the website.

This is what is included: Aluminum cap, one and/or two single and double barb fittings, a section of genuine "BLACK" 60 durometer Viton tubing, two zip ties, a section of brass tubing, brass barb and the newly designed PSP custom heavy clunk pick up.
