I'm thinking about cutting the intake header down to length of threads only - eliminating curved header - making it short and stubby . A medium dose of Red loctite and use the short threaded piece to put carb into engine .
What do you think guys - then I'm going to trim the black plastic intake horn a bit to match radius of cowling - then a hole on cowling to feed carb with nothing sticking out of it -

Muffler - I'm going to try running straight header /no muffler like guys in video - I like the sound of that and will be easier to mount

I think it will be tough for this little engine to succeed in market without some new headers to accommodate airplanes - but it does look like a jewel and the performance in the video looks great

This bird will test it - 23 plus pound top flight p-40 85 inch - building for a friend

You might want to beef up the standoffs a bunch, the ones you have are going to let the engine shake ALOT! This engine has VERY SHARP firing pulses and likes to vibrate. If it runs anything like the one I had. Maybe Gaui worked out some of the issues by now, I don't know.

Mark.

Heat transfer to the carb might be a problem that close to the head, unless you can get some plastic/PTFE spacer in there.

Why not just hard mount the carb to the firewall and connect it to the head with some kind of plastic / silacone / composite tube, like the air ducting in your auto!
