Either battery would be a good choice. I find it odd that you can't figure out how to mount a life battery though.

I can figure out how to mount a battery. However, since I'm about to build a composit airframe, I'm looking for a clean instal and the Jeti battery and mount seem to fit that bill.

I have used other alluminum and CF mounts, in lesser airframes, but they are generic in nature and don't fit my requirements for a 5K plus build.

Below is the look I'm after and why the Jedi mount and batteries caught my attention and prompted the Li-Ion questions.

Just trying to point out that I'm looking for a higher caliber solution than what I have previously used on lesser airframes. I have "many" lesser airframes...

I’m sorry I guess I don’t understand “lesser”. My approach on builds is function first, form second. I would trade all the mechanics of that pull pull for a couple of rear mounted servos and batteries placement is driven by cg considerations.

I have seen some nice battery trays created using a 3D printer but absent that I am happy to fabricate my own.

Unfortunately no 3D printer for me at the moment.

I usually do use tail mounted servos for the rudder as it is my preference, but the composite airframe is tail heavy in nature and needs as much of the equipment as far foward as possible to achieve a CG w/o additional nose weight.

For mounting any battery or Rx, I just use a little bit of velcro and then a velcro strap. Super simple. Functional for me. Opinions vary.

I'm a two velcro strap kind of guy but I guess I understand the need for bling in some cases.

This is what I usually use too. But as mentioned, I'm building something of which I want something a little nicer.

The PowerBox PowerPak PRO is another option. What is nice about PRO version is it includes charging/balancing system in battery case. All you do is plug in 12 volt power lead to charge. They also can be serviced with new cells and offer additional mounting plates so they can be used in other airframes easily. https://powerbox-americas.com/collec...attery-systems

While researching battery mounts for a clean secure instal, I came across the Jeti li-on batteries, which look really nice and the mount is exactly what I'm looking for.

However, I have no experience with the Li-Ion batteries and their chemistry and looking for some feedback.

My equipment is all HV compatible so there are no concerns there.

Is there any reason or concern to not go down the Li-Ion route or should I stay with the tried and true Life?

That's an intriguing option too... I do like the pro features and the auto storage mode. Being able to easily transfer between models could also bring convenience on the larger birds.... Hmmm.....
