EF 47" Yak hanger rash

Hi, I'm not sure if I'm putting this in the right thread or not, but I need some help on ideas on how to repair this hanger rash that's been there for almost 2 years, but haven't had time to fix it because I'm in college now. Looking at it does not appear very bad at all and easy to fix, but I just dont know how to go about it in a way that the end result is nice and neat. Thanks!

Help on your hangar rash? Put the plane in that 'Cuda and ship both to me........ I'll fix the plane like new, drive the car until the grin goes off my face, put repaired plane back in car, set it on auto pilot and send it back to you. No Charge! LOL! (Nice car!) Seriously though........ College can inhibit good repairs. Get the covering to match and slice open the air frame where it's broke. C/A all the broke stuff, sand it down good and recover. I just did three airframes last week and this weekend and everybody is happy. (Except me...... Nobody loaned me their 'Cuda!)

Just what he said. I had a deadstick with my EF 58" Extra, and repairs took a little time, but it'a all part of flying. Do NOT try to repair it without cutting the surrounding covering away. It won't be nearly as strong or staight. Take your time, and pretty soon it'll be almost good as new!

Here are a few pics of mine.

Lol thanks bout the car, shes a beauty! Also, I don't have any covering so I might just use some clear packing tape in the mean time. Thanks!

I had a problem with the battery. It was discharged past what it should have been, and I had to charge it at 3s, then 4s, then 5s. Everything was going well, but it evidently didn't fully charge, and 5 1/2 minutes into the flight, I was a ways past the end of the runway, and pulling out of a low inverted harrier... I wasn't able to make it back to the runway...
Oh well, it's back and flying just as good as ever!

I've done the exact same thing to my 58inch extra. It's like deja vu, I've seen that before! Were those carbon rods your idea or did it come that way? Mine had 3 ply braces that ran through the bulkhead all the way to the firewall.

The CF rods are in all of them. They really add alot of strength, but sometimes things happen that push them too far.

Got the plane fixed, I let a club member with more experience fix it, it looks good as new, even matched the covering, flew the plane, and flys like its on rails!

I guess EF changes their design some, or the factory in China got lazy, because there are no CF rods in mine.
