Yea it wouldve been better for the plane if he had flown it as slow as possable n got it down with less of a pull at the bottom, Im sure when he heard the flutter start during the show slot his mind mustve been instantly into saftey first n just wanted it on the ground regardless of its arrival. I wouldve been flapping as much as the Bird

this is very sad to see. I was there when it happened and Yes was shocked to hear of only one servo used per ail. I believe the linkage failed or both servos at the same time, IE momentarily having no power ect… as for the model itself, she was a completely composite built airframe with some of the parts moulded off a BH extra and 80% carbon.

One servo per surface is fine if it is done right. Lots of other things going on could have contributed. How were the wings built? Did they skins delam and cause the problem? I have seen full scale planes flown with a seiko. They are plenty strong.

And the L4 was a disaster. Its no wonder it didn't pass LMA inspection. Good thing it got bought and straightened out. I hope you don't kill someone flying at that non AMA sanctioned field owned by the Corps of Engineers. You are definitely not one to talk about setting up large models. Rudder servo two inches off center of the fuse, monofilament fishing line as pull pull cables going to the tailwheel tiller to drive the rudder, stacks of assorted washers for engine standoffs, six pounds of lead sheets glued together and epoxied to the cowling, assorted items bolted to the motor box for weight, etc. That was an accident waiting for a victim. Giants this size should have a meticulous assembly and setup. Not half assed. And how are you even posting since being banned, creating numerous other accounts that were banned as well? Why does the cowl have a big hump on top (pre-crash)? Carb clearance?
