Hey Max,

His name is Graham, something, I'll look it up. He is from Ireland, and I think it was a Hype 3D. He's on here, i just don't remember his screen name.

Eddie, that's an impressive looking setup. Got any video of it in action?

Re: Variable Pitch goes BIG!!

No video yet.. First flight was a few weeks ago. Its works fine, just does not
take the plane strait up like it needs to.. I need to make a few new parts
to get more pitch.. that may help..

Anyone near Baton Rouge want to test fly it..

Eddie,

If I was even in the next state, I'd drive out to fly that plane, in a second!!!

Very nice, I'd sure like to see it in action.

Eddie, I knew I recognized your name from somewhere, just wasn't sure. I remember reading about some of the projects listed on your webpage, all very impressive stuff for sure. If no one has said it yet, welcome to the FlyingGiants site. Glad to have you aboard.

Re: Variable Pitch goes BIG!!

Here is the only video I have.... Its not of the plane flying its just a CNC mill making the parts..

www.corpcomp.com/weeks1/movies/Mill.wmv

I need some help.. I am a jet guy and don't know a lot about DA100s.. Do get this thing to work
right I had to make my own props with no twist, no problem, but when I flew the plane
its just did not pull it should. The prop is about 30" long tip to tip and it soulds like its turning
fast enough, but once it gets in the air its has no speed... What prop should a DA100 use.. ?
What happens if I have a prop without enough pitch... what will it fly like.. ?

Once this is working I can mass produce these things but it will not be cheep.. There are
$200 worth of bearings in that thing.. hahah

Re: Variable Pitch goes BIG!!

Eddie...

90% of the guys that would have amazing answers to your questions are at the Toledo show this weekend. Make sure this stays up near the top of the list early next week, you will get more input than you know what to do with.

i would say a DA - 100 does well with any where from a 26 - 10 to a 28 - 8, 28 - 10
- 2 blade.

But there are many more opinions and some that REALLY know the DA 100 well.

Like I said, early next week... you will get tons if info.

PS: thanks for sharing your design... and your web page - you have some very creative ideas! Good luck!

Hey Eddie,

Ten out of ten for effort. That is a simply stunning attempt at vpp, and certainly destined for success. I look forward to flight video.......Damn, I'm impressed!

Good luck with it,

Graham.

Re: Variable Pitch goes BIG!!

sweet........ you probobly just need more pitch and less diameter. I think you need to get in cahoots with a prop manufacturer
