Thanks for the heads up. I will definitly leave them be as long as there is no reason to pull the plugs. I had one of these 1/4 32 plugs in a 120 glow conversion and replacement was no problem as long as they were only lightly snugged down. Light finger and thumb torque with a one and a half inch handle wrench is all that's needed. As long as they weren't put in too tightly there should be no problem with removal if need be.

Bolt on that 20x8 and don't look back! Lots of heat cycles is what you'll want to break that baby in. As you've read the first few starts may be a bear, but it gets easier each time and eventually will start in 2-3 flips!

Anyone know if the VVRC 40cc Twin will fit in a Pilot-RC 26% Yak 54?

The angled version is the one with the 1/4 X 32 spark plugs right? Has anyone mounted the one with the straight CM-6 spark plugs in a EF "78 Extra 300? Thanks!

like that's not a fast plane thats a draggy airframe you are wanting to over power ..... i rather have normal power and be floaty like a foamy isn't that the idea of a yak 54 ? i'll never understand pepole .. i asume it's a pound or so heavyer ... |

Here's a quick video of my 40cc in action from a "sucker hole" I got to fly in yesterday at the NCC. And when I say sucker hole, it went from blue skies to Hurricane Sandy in a matter of minutes... PS my bigfoot is a pig at around 13.5#...

The VVRC twin is less then a ounce more in weight the the DLE-35. If I was going to do any Pilot RC airframe with the VVRC twin, it would be their 26% size planes. All ( Yak 54, Yak 55, Sbach, Edge 540, Extra 300, Extra 330SC, and Extra 260 ) are all 73" wingspan, designed for a 26cc - 35cc engine. With this twin only weighing less then a ounce more then the DLE-35, why wouldn't you put the VVRC twin in one ? More power, a smoother idle ( being a twin ), and more torque. Yes there are some plane with more wing area, but any of the 26% Pilot RC planes should handle the VVRC twin just fine. I'm waiting and gonna go with the PAU Edge 540 when it is released. Just not sure if I'll go with this twin, or wait for the DA-35. But I'm leaning more towards this twin. |

My new VVRC Twin 40 just arrived but I have a muffler issue. Both of the mufflers casting of the mount face plate area is Not flat. They actually "rock" like a see-saw across the face of the exhaust port
I doubt the gasket will seal the port at all. Anyone else with this issue? How'd you fix it? I could run a flat bastard file across it I guess. But not impressed with that necessity. Its odd, because the machining of the rest of theotor appears first class! Ideas? |
