125" extra v4 re3 tuned pipe.

Anyone have any pictures of how built MTW RE3 tuned pipe and powerbox champion on 125" extra V4?
Any advice would be great!
Thank you.

Number 2 is where mine were placed. I have built 2 of them. Also on both of mine the exhausts tubes go right through the former behind. I had to remove the bottom section of the former and fashion an exit that provided the needed clearance but then structurally tied things back together for strength.

These pics are from my 1st one. Also added a partial tunnel made from craft foam sheet.

You may want to consider Pull/pull. My 1st one was from the early run of this plane in the Red White Charcoal star scheme. Eventually got it balance very neutral with 2 Elev and 2 Rud servos in the tail but batteries are at the firewall and throttle servo mounted in the engine box.

My second is the Yellow Red Blue scheme and it is heavier in the tail.
I built it and equipped it the same and it was tail heavy. Moved to a heavier spinner and only running a single 915 in oz Rud servo in the tail and it is still almost too neutral balancing.

Is number 2 correct?
Do you have an internal picture with re3 on it?

yes my mistake! Quick look and pictured the fuselage reversed.

Again.... careful on the CG. I use LiIons for batteries and don't have a problem mounting them in the engine box and forgetting about them for a couple years. If you use Lipos and mount them by the tank you will be adding nose weight if your rudder servos are push-pull!

Can you share the info on the exhaust extensions you used and how you installed?

Its flexible high temp silicone tubing. In the past I have ordered it from McMaster Carr, but I believe Desert Aircraft has it on their site a little easier to find. Oder the Inside diameter to match your RE3 stinger OD...
seems it is 15 mm but double check. I just clean the aluminum stinger and inside of the silicone tubing and then but a smear of High Temp silicone sealer in the stinger and wipe it down to just a film. Then I slide the tubing on with a twisting motion and tried to force it to jus start to make the "bend at the end of the pipe. Then I install 2 sturdy zip ties on it and let it cure. So far never have had one come off.

I use 90mm mtw header and re3 tuned pipe.
recommend by friend, I wrapped the flexible header with silicone tape and re3 teflon hose to prevent leakage.
Silicon tape is being tested.
There's been interference in the endpipe.
I need to reinforce the fuselage by cutting it a little bit.

I bought it at a tool store.
It's made of Teflon.
