The ONE Big thing that may keep us from switching back to JR! The price of receivers! i have many planes and not willing to pay the high prices for receivers. At the asking price JR wants for its receivers I will stay with my Airtronics

JR and Futaba RX's are a premium product with a price that is inline with their quality.

Hobby King has low prices RX options. They are the most expensive if you include the planes that return to the pits in a garbage bag due to "radio issues." This is not speculation, I have seen it many times before.

the 6 is around 60.00 and the 10 is around 76 rounded in price at Amain.

I do understand the pain of changing radio brands.

I sold off all my Airtronics gear to help cover some of my JR rx purchase.

On a note that 5150flyer commented on

Do I trust Travis and J (who I have interacted with at DFA) or do I trust Serpant USA or Desoto racing who ever it is...

Ill pay the extra money any day.

editing this post as I don't want to keep posting new posts about airtronics on the jr dfa thread

the way I understand it when hobby people closed doors the airtronics name was theirs so it went back to Sanwa and is being distributed as Sanwa. They are still from what I recall strong in the rc car world (telemetry etc etc) so Serpant USA / Desoto racing took over the distributorship but don't count on much support at all in the rc air department.

Interesting considering Airtronics folded a few years ago.

My mistake then. So who distributes then now? They were "THE" radio in soaring for decades. Not seen one at either a soaring field or regular flying site for a very long time.?

Serpent RC located in Florida handles them in the usa now. I agree you don't see many at flying sites anymore I just retired mine a few weeks ago and was the only one using Airtronics. As for the airplane radios I think the SD10G with the 10 channel receiver has one of the most solid links
out there.

WELL,, I spent a lot of money to equip my giant scale planes with JR systems, Xbus, and JR Servos, Then when JR PROPO went bankrupt I began selling all my JR equipment. I was very disappointed in the JR 8711 and 8911 servos, especially since they were not Brushless but carried a Brushless servo price Also had disappointing results with some of their Telemetry Sensors.

I don’t predict they will be successful this time around UNLESS they offer Real Value by offering competitive pricing with at least equal quality.

Bottom line for me, I got off the JR ROLLER COASTER and don’t intend to go back.

I have two 35 percent fitted with the new s-8911 coreless servos and they are fantastic completely blow away the mks they replaced. The new receivers work perfectly just like the for lack of a better description original ones. I am building a 43 percent with the same s-8911 servos and the new eight channel mated for dual receivers
