Defintely go over all joints you can reach with more glue, just in case. You also may want to consider shooting a coat of clear over the whole plane. Anywhere there is rubbing, the color rubs off the covering. Its a great plane, one of my favorites.

Does anyone have a measurement of the Cowl width? I am wondering what the it is right around the mid point of the engine. Any answers would be very helpful.
Thank you.

So, let me ask you Spitfire owners. If you are powering you craft with a DLE 61 is it enough power? Are you having to add weight to the nose to get it to balance? I ask because I have one coming and if I have to add nose weight I would rather install a bigger motor, 3W 75 or 3W80. What are you thoughts on this?

DLE-61 is more than enough....I also added ZERO weight.....its designed around the DLE-61. Fits perfect no issues....

How did you get away with no weight? The 55& 61 are pretty close in weight.

Only 8 ounces needed.

I carefully balanced my Spitfire inverted and hanging on the CG templates. It only took 8 ounces on top of the motor box with a DLE55RA. Havent flown it yet but will soon.

Interesting...stock muffler? What batteries?

I wonder if the newer version that's coming out of their factory has enough differences that would result in this. Did you do an overall weight?

Phoenix Stuka 60 cc

be carefull to add more weight in the nose on Phoenix models. My stuka on maiden flight the whole front with motor broke of nice a nd clean on landing. So far for good model construction. Poor construction.
