Gens, It's all good !

Reason I did this thread was mainly the fact, I was extremely unhappy with the stands that were available to us. I can't complain enough about that and back pains and just being uncomfortable with what I have had!

Also, Gene's stands have been around for over a year and yet I didn't know about them! I am hoping this thread helps those who are in my shoes!

One of the most important things when you build is to have a good stand! I will be in touch with Gene and give him feedback if I notice anything, maybe he even considers something for a little bigger planes in the future So far, I am super happy!

The more and more i think about this and the long term advantages of having it, i think i need to just buy one instead of trying to copy it. After the material cost and labor it might end up costing me more to make it. I really need this right now because i am building and flying warbirds agian. And as everyone knows they seem to live in a work stand. I hear ya about leaning over your bird. It would be nice to be able to stand right up close to get to things.

Damn you Reza another thing i need that i dont have the money for. Stop posting this stuff.

Buy it! You will love it! Unlike planes and other things, this will stay on the ground rather than dropping on the ground

Just to add my 2c worth. As Reza mentioned, a bunch of us bought these stands at Nall. I have to say that I have used it numerous times already with all kinds of models. My Jet, GS warbird and IMAC airplanes, and I am in love with this thing!! Its built very solid and I'm pretty sure it'll out live me. It saves my back being able to get the airplane at any height I need and being able to walk right up to it and wheel it around.

Truely an awesome stand! I am a very satisfied customer of Gene's!

After all the reviews that I have read on these I ordered one this week. I'm looking forward to putting it to use.

My 36% PAU Edge is waiting for its new stand on casters. FedEx tracking has it in Atlanta headed westbound to my workshop in Hawaii. Father's Day gift to myself.

Well, I figured I may as well give some input also. I know Gene and Lois personally, and they are two of the nicest people that you would want to meet. I have had one of their stands for about a year now, and have really put it to use. It is really helpful when you are rebuilding a plane, and you want to put the plane on its side or top. Just adjust the arms, and you're set.

I'm glad I have mine, cause it looks like they may have a waiting list in the near future.

I received my stand today and I must say it is very nicely built. I don't know how they can make any money on them. I am a very happy with my purchase.

Assembled my stand today (5-min job w/ titebond and driving 4 torx-head wood screws.) Taking it to the field tomorrow for show-and-tell. My flying buddies will be impressed with the sturdiness and versatility of the design. Thanks, Gene and Lois.

model work stands

,
all of the above

I saw these stands and knew I had to have 1, or 2, okay 4 then
If you like to save $ building your own, forget it

Its all ready to go and you'll save time/$ buying these awesome work stands

Also a great way to store fuses, if you like

I wonder if spring washers on the adjstument bolts will help reduce slack over time ?

Maybe a higher 'mount' could help, well, for me, I prefer eye level when standing up ???

Maybe a height option available in the kits ? You know, just add the extra long extensions to the stand ?? Could be good for tall folks

Anyways, great work, Gene and Lois, awesome !

Thanks for some real world equipment !

Taller stand means less stability! You can't just bring up the height without widening the base so for that they will need to redesign the foot print!

When you say slack what do you mean? Cradle not locking strong enough ?
