All good. I checked the plans that I built the plane from, and left and right scoops are different. So, in that case that is what I have done.

I think I see what you guys are talking about. However I got the original cowl from Fiberglass Specialties for that plane, and I assumed they did it right. The plan also does not show something different than the cowl I received.

In the future I might be able to make adjustments to this part, but does that really matter?

So are you saying you bought and copied the cowl you bought from another vendor?

If you got the cowl for the Roamin Research plans, that plane has been criticized for inaccuracies since it came to market

I did not copy anything. I modified everything and built a whole new airplane. The roamin research plans where not good at all.

If you look at the intake of the scoops you can see the top and bottom lips are different depending on the right and left side my opinion is the engineers took advantage of prop wash ......if you want true scale it needs to be changed.

In my photo, the plane with the original engine AM-35. All flying MiG-3 are equipped with the Allison engines. AM-35 and Allison have different shaft rotations. Regards.

So if you know it comes in different configurations why are you calling out Blazing Wing's cowl as being wrong?

The inlets are different on each side depending on engine rotation ......Blazing Wings inlets are the same on both sides......look closely at the photos itís easy to see.

OK, I see what you guys are saying now,, TNX for the clarification

Look like Blazing's is like the Roaming Research cowl mistakenly has,, both angling the same way,,,, I have one in my basement,, that ain't going to be easy to modify

I have looked at several pictures of the MIG 3 over the weekend, and seen different air intakes of that part. What I might do, is to make a second part of this, and people can decide what they want to use. Hope that solves this issue.

I think there have been two versions on that specific part of the plane.

Clearly they are different on the opposite sides.. as explained by Justwantafly this depends on the direction of the prop rotation

Same plane,, different views

I have a friend overseas that is working on a MIG 3. He got some help from some guys that are restoring a full scale MIG 3. I will contact him to get more insight on this. Very confusing this is.

The pictures shows MIG 1 and MIG 3.

My friend overseas explained this to me. I will make the changes and maybe a new mold for the cowl. No problem. Anything can be changed and modified if needed. Next time I post pictures it will have the "hopefully correct" intakes.

Thanks for all the input guys. Glad to have people with hawk eyes out there. We can''t make things better without the input of others.
