Rather than looking for a "scaled down" version of the 42% wing, think about the most optimal

I agree. Things that youíd need to think about on the 109Ē wings would be wing socket length, wing attachment points, servo locations. Aileron size and control horn location. The outer servo on the wing can be a issue if the wing isnít thick enough. Not to jump all over Craigís thread but just some thoughts for him going forward.

First off, I appreciate all the comments/thoughts and I welcome it. The whole purpose of a thread (IMO) is to learn something and leave something for others to reference... so, please keep it coming. I'm also not experienced in model airplane design so these things need thought through.

With that being said, I think you guys are referring to 2 different issues. Steve's thought pertains to the airfoil.... is it the best for a 35% version of the 124 Pro?... I don't know. I feel very confident that the airfoil on the 124 has worked out... IMACers love it. So, because the airfoil is constant (meaning it's not variable from the root to the tip) I should be able to use the same airfoil (butin a slightly smaller version) and it'll fly great!!!

However, Grabs is referring to wing details that need to be considered as you build the wing. I can assure you, I've considered those items mentioned and have thought them through.

Also keep in mind, the 109 is one-off.... so, no harm if it doesn't work! This is simply all for the fun of model airplanes!

Thanks Grabs!... I'll certainly keep that in mind.

What motor do you think you'll put in the 109.

The motor for the 109 will be a DA120 on cans. Most likely KS 3086. I've never run them but heard great things!

Firewall oak rails and CF done. I also got the LG oak rails and LG plate installed! Now Iím gonna clean the workbench and start preping for fuse sides.

Iíll return to the motorbox in the next couple weeks after I get the headers and cans... Iím wanting KS 3086ís for the 109 but DA is out of stock. So, Iíll piddle around with fuse sides for a bit.

You should chat through the design of the 109” wings with Dennis. If any one would have good advice on it the Dennis would be the guy. Remember at one time Carden offered kits from 30-43% of many different aerobatic planes (extra, edge, cap, Giles, yak, etc)

Awesome Bob! Glad to have you man!

Our ďhomecomingĒ was this weekend so I didnít get a lot done. I did, however, play with some carbon fiber. I did a small 12x12 layup and a larger layup with 1/8Ē balsa sandwiched between carbon.

Iím planning to cut these up and use them in the build in various spots/gussets. Iíll update the thread after the epoxy dries.

More to come!
