Looking back at all that's taken place since 2.4 hit the streets and I see manufacturers putting new products in their catalogs that the users of their systems have to pay for out of pocket to correct the original errors of the manufacturers. JR being the worst for this. None of them are upgrading their errors free of charge to the users of their products. But what the heck, the consumers can't be all that bright if they keep paying for the stuff to fix a manufacturer design error.

The guy just might have a legitimate bitch, and few of us ever get an entire radio replaced for free. That's tatamount to a full admission from the manufacturer that they were at fault. If that's the case, they should have replaced everything, regardless of their written product warranty policies. Negligence never takes back seat to a warranty--ever. The problem is in proving it. The cost is frequently well beyond the benefit.

Gotta agree with T.O.M. Horizon was a great outfit to deal with until they decided to see what the market would bear on prices. BUT. I've never had a 'questionable' piece of equiptment replaced. After a few occurances I ditched them myself.

All that said JR is good enough stuff overall for me not to look elsewhere.

Never occured to me to get any consideration what-so-ever for an airframe from anyone. From where I stand he came out smelling like a rose all things considered whether they were at fault or not. It is rare indeed for them to help out in that way.

Just too many "things" involved to pinpoint cause.

T.Bob you are a mess, dude.

We had a pilot at our field that had one of those planes. He crashed it unexpectedly after other successful flights. I walked to the scene of the crash. He had plugged one of his wings up incorrectly. He swapped the gear and the aileron or the gear and the flap, I do not remember which. One aileron at full deflection was something he could not recover from.

Great crash. Poor comment. Life is hard, get a helmet.

Nimh does not like a high discharge. It could have browned out. Nicad is much better as it can handle higher discharge. Nimh is better suited for transmitters.

So what was it? Maybe they saved you a different plane by replacing your TX.

yea i am, sorry just still one of those that cant manage to use my mind powers to pull the plane to safety when the over-priced equipment takes a dump...maybe one day I will be good nuff....

so what if I bash Horizon??? i have spent thousands with them and still do, and this not the one and only radio failure I've had...yea they took care me somewhat, but their failure still cost me $$$ to repair engine and other things....so i got no love for them....
Don't mind what TBob says.

If they are so terrible, why do you still buy from them? They must not be too bad if you spend your hard earned money there.

I just bought my dad two AR7000 a month ago, he hasnt used them yet, but now im getting worried after reading all these threads. Ive got 2 jr 921, 2 AR6100E and 2 AR6200. Ive never had any problems. But i guess ill just watch these recievers alittle bit more. I will say he had a issue binding a AR6200 but i found that the switch was toast. Otherwise they have all been great.

man i love these threads let the man vent if he wants to. my gosh cant someone get mad about something with out you eggheads jumping on him. so what its not worded the way you would like to have it. its the real world. horizon dosent suck though. i like my JR 2.4 and would not go back unless i had too. futaba isnt any better, either is hitec, or multiplex, or airtronics. every company has problems. and yes it sucks when it happens to you. but its your choice to leave the ground. everytime you take your plane off, you have made your choice that it just might crash and not come back. it would be nice if a company would come up with some sort of insurance or at least product liability, you coud bet if someone got killed a laywer would win a product liability case.no matter what the warrenty says and last but not least T-BOB your the man
