My experience with the 2290 is so-so. I do think they are a good bang for the buck given the performance. I'm using them as aileron servos on two 40%s.
But being picky - for me the centering/accuracy is not so great and they're a bit lazy. They also perform terribly on 6.6v 2s LiFe/A123 and get very hot very quickly under load. They are much better on 2s LiPo. |

I fly nothing but Hi-Tec servos in my Warbirds and IMAC planes. Their service department is great and they've been in the servo business for many years. Beware of some of the lower cost competitors, you get what you pay for.

I wish he would produce a servo that works with all radio systems. He wont, so I will spend my $$$ elsewhere on equipment that the manufacture wont blame my equipment for

Same here. I had centering issues with the 79 series and D series servos when set up for precision. When you have to trim before each flight, there is an issue. I never have to do that with Savox and JR servos. Plus they are much smoother than Hitec.

I used to have a couple places I could get Savox from at a slight discount but lately haven’t been able to find that and have been paying full price.
AMAIN has coupons but I’m in CA and they are in CA so the sales tax pretty much cancels out the discount for me. I’ve run just about every servo brand and none of them are perfect. I’ve mostly been running Savox lately since they seem to be the most used in the jet/turbine world. I do like my 2290’s in my 35% 3d plane, the power was a huge upgrade over the MKS I had in there before. |
