For me the key is a good selection of songs.
It's important to have a good Intro and a good Ending.
Use variety in the middle and have fun.
If you really like it, then it's perfect!

Logic pro 9 ,I eat sleep and breath that soft ware, the sound is THE BEST,
I also run pro tools ,But I seriously doubt you have a rig to run it nor the need.
Logic is a mac based program,If your running a window machine I would recomend
Cubase sx and wave lab, wave lab is the editing and mastering portion of cubase.
You can however run in standalone mode, and its the best easiest most visualy intuitive editing soft ware.
You can comose loops only ,Its not a sequencer per say such as Logic, cubase or protools
The native instruments plug ins availble to you use with cubase or wavelab ,have the very best ,cleanest transparent sound avalible,as far as digital domain audio is concerned.Of course this all depends on your Sound card and the quality of your ear,I ve doing recordi.g and mastering for many years tho so you might be looking for some thing free.
But going by what it sounds like you want to edit for I d Highly recomend Final.cut pro.
Its made specificly for editing audio and video time lines. It may have a bit of a learning curve.
But depending upon you it may not. If you want a super workable and useable program Final cut pro is your software.

if it would let me burn i would use my protools software, it has amazing capabilities and sound quality is outstanding!
but it wont let me burn discs, so i just use wave pad. wave pad has a 30 day free trial, and its 40-50$ but its so e pretty darn good software as well! highly reccomend!!!!

Protools can need farmcards to actually run at full capacity, (full effects and plug in's) and full systems can be around $50K+.
I had a 128 channel system at the last studio I worked at with a pro control with 64 channels of flying faders. It was awesome.
Sounds was amazing.

yeah, i figured that out after i spent around 500$ on equippment... havent made a single freestyle track yet with it. i did alot of one man band recordings and its excelent. what i want to do is get that capability to hook up my guitar to make a band of trumpets when i hit a chord!!!! it is so sweet!!!! might end up selling equipp soon.
