There is nothing wrong with Turnigy batteries. I'm using 2 4000 2S NanoTech's in a 42%. Have several hundred flights on them!! Completely and absolutely no issues!!

I have been running Turnigy li-pos on my last 3 100cc airplanes and I have had no issues. Remember these servos draw power but not nearly as much as electric motors so they don't get much abuse. Just keep a voltmeter on them before every flight(which you should with any battery).

BTW Craig, very nice and clean install! Will I see you this year?

Gentlemen,

Question please. Has aynbody got an all up weight on this bird with the DA-170 on cans with smoke????
I want this plane, but at present, I already have a new 150 with MTW 110 cans.
I hate to mention it for fear of ridicule, but would a DA-150 power this plane OK for just punching holes in the sky????

Thanks - Jaketab

I dont know the weight but ill answer this question. Yes! the 150 will fly any plane around in this size range for a lot of fun. It wont have ridiculous punch out of a hover; it wont have upper class IMAC up line speed but it will be a fun plane to fly. All that being said more power is more fun lol

Gentleman,

Thanks for the weight report. Hope you can report back when you know the exact weight with the 170 on cans. Decision time is upon me to chose between the Krill 330SC or the CARF 330SC. Don't now for sure, but it appears the CARF may weight slightly less. Price difference may also be a factor.
Great thread.

Thanks - Jaketab

Craig,

18.3 kgs sounds like 40.344 593 98 pound.
Not too bad at all.

Thank you

Craig,

Sorry if I overlooked it in this thread. What motor, headers, and cans are installed on your Krill?
It's the headers I'm interested in. Brand and where to buy?

Thanks - Jaketab

Hi Craig,
I wouldnt fly a 50 cc with batteries of unknown origins. not to mention an amazing plane like yours. I shall not go into deep explanations, so i just chose a quote from a german manufacture site, to express my geneal idea:

"The market for Lithium batteries from Asia is growing and getting confusing. You can read reports about burning and exploding batteries despite appropriate usage, more and more often. Many manufacturers bypass the extensive and cost intensive safety tests of their Lithium cells. Most often, manufacturer rewrite old safety tests of one single cell size for all products.

This means, often batteries are sold, which do not comply to all requirements of safety and quality."

I would give this important issue a second thought.
