I just finished my Lanier Laser and its my new favorite. Its also my only giant aerobat, my 1/4 scale T-craft doesnt count. I wish there were a few threads like this when I started my build, 2 x-mas's ago.....yes I'm a slow builder. Anyhow my building skills only span 3 years so expertise on lightening a plane are lacking, I did searches but really came up with nothing. Basically it's stock, I did however get the foam turtle deck and one piece molded canopy wing hatch from Robert Godfrey. Cowl from Fiberglass Specialties, he said Laser cowls are his favorite by the way. That is where my weight savings end. Not to mention I have a Mac Minnerelli 85 twin on the nose so there goes my weight savings. All that said I have only 6 flights on her and I love how she flies. On knife edge she went to the cowl and had some roll coupling but some mixing and their nice now. She holds a hover but I'm not that skilled yet. 3 years building, 2 1/2 years flying. I cant wait to see what Charlie Zera can do with her if I can stomach it, might have to look away.

I hope some of you guys are talking about the laser models Laser 3D. Hehe. That thing is a blast. It may not look remotely close to a laser 200, but its a blast to fly. Heck, that thing lands it self its so easy to fly!

Talk about way ahead of the times!!! He would have been doin 3D with a full scale before Quique showed us on the model..

Someone should take that out for a ride and see what it's made of... I'm sure Leo would'nt mind matter of fact he would appreciate it!!! I'm sad of what we missed from Leo..

I have built three of the laniers, each one lighter than the last but I have never seen one fly that light! Great job ,and cant wait to see the bigger one !

I had to compress and convert the file down from 324 meg of mp4 to an much smaller AVI file to work work on this forum, you might have to download some free software to view it.

Did any of you guys start your Laser projects?

Bob, I want to badly, but the lack of any available pre-made 35-36% glass and canopy for a Laser is holding me back...... I have the skills, I just don't like doing glasswork in the shop anymore because of the new co-pilot. I don't mind getting itchy myself, but I'd just die if any glass got near my daughter.........

I still want to do it though.....

I think that Laser's are more for sportish flying. But hey if you can get in, I'm happy for you. Quite honestly I think they should allow planes in based on there flight characteristics. I think. Not sure.
