Opinions please / Don't want to start a brand war
Running a Menz 27X10 on a Jtec Panzl / 3W100
Had a brain F and broke prop
Plane tended to be to fast for my liking /cruise speed was just above an idle / totally unlimited vertical / boo coo pull
I don't 3D / just IMAC style
I'd like to slow it down a little
I like to cruise at maybe 1/2 throttle (have a little reserve power to jump into a maneuver)/ with good pull on verticals
would like suggestions on size / type / of prop
Maybe 26X10 or 26x8 (read somewhere I think/that the lower pitch would slow it down on the down lines)
Nobody seems to have a 27X8

There are certainly prop solutions, like a Mejzlik 28x10, that will load up your engine and bring rpm down a bit. However, if you like the power and your main goal is to get a reasonable cruising speed at mid throttle, have you considered adding a throttle curve?

Or maybe a 3 blade?

i was going to suggest a 3 bladed prop. more pull but less speed.

WOW to cruise at right above idle. i would say the plane is WAY over powered.

Falcon 28x9 or 28x9W carbon fiber.

Menz have a very blade section which gives them a lot of bite. going to a 28/10 or 27/10with a narrower chord will likely help, or what has been suggested above. three is not more pull - it's less, but you get a lot of braking.

I have a 26x8 and 26x10 (just zingers) that I'm going to try / just to see what happens before I order something better / If I can get into the ballfield then the next step is the infield
Still trying to get the throws and balance to my likening / which I know the prop will affect
Then on to throttle curve
I have to take baby steps
Only have a few flites on it / really tough to make to many changes to quick
Would love to go 3 blade but between props and spinner
$$$$ can't happen yet

Those props sizes, especially in a wooden zinger, will be way to small for your 100. Be careful or you will over speed your engine in the air when the prop unloads.

Absolutely...the 26 imo is way too small, your engine should easily rip that prop....here is a screen shot of the prop I'd choose

Those sizes are on the bottom end of whats listed by 3W for the engine but I never thought about the overspeed
I'm trying to find the sweet spot on engine RPM to get where I can get some quick reaction with throttle response / when it was up at 1/2 + throttle where that happened with the 27x10 it was a rocket
I'm used to my 55 and 70cc birds / this 100 reacts way different

To distribute better the power band among youre stick travel you could check the mechanical linkage geometry of youre throttle servo as well, and then make a point curve to set to youre liking.
Take a look at the picture attached, try to use the inner hole on the servo arm also. This shoud make bottom half smoother.

Just an update
Tried the 2 26" props yesterday (really noisy) ponyboy is right / easy to rip
Slowed down my airspeed / down to a decent cruise speed at 1/2 throttle but lost control authority in slow flite
Going to order a 28x6 & 28x8 from aircraft international ( only place that seems to have those sizes) and try them
Hopefully will slow down but give more airflow across the tail at lower RPM (with the bigger diameter) for better stability in slow flite

Please do NOT use a Zinger prop. Please, please, please, please do not use it! If you ha e to use it, please use it as a paint stirrer. The blades are really thin and will flex tremoundously, and will create an awful lot of prop rip. And you could blow the prop apart, plus, I think the prop hub is really thin, and your current bolts will bottom out, and give you a false sense of tightness.

The 27x10 you have is absolutely perfect for that engine. You can throttle back, if you are concerned about it being too fast.
If you want, you can try some of the above listed or you can try a Mejzlik 28x10. Its gonna load the engine a little more than the 27x10, and it may not make alot of noise at full power.

All the wooden props flex alot. Carbon props do not flex nearly as much as wood or at all.

Follow this advice please! You are in dangerous, low performance territory just bolting an old Zinger on the engine.
