Got the muffler on and the cowl cut out.
I'll paint the muffler black.

I also installed a salvaged servo box from another plane and mounted it behind the main tray.
The rudder servo will mount here for a pull-pull setup.

I glued in a block of balsa with a brass bushing in the tail right below the rudder and drilled at the hinge point and installed a 1/8" rod that will be inserted in a hole drilled at the bottom of the rudder.
I taped the rod in place at the hinge line till the glue dried assuring a nice square alignment of the bushing.

Now, back inside, I will put a double arm and the pull-pull wires will attach to it.

Then I will run wires with springs forward to the tail wheel arm.

Speaking of the tail wheel assy, I put the tail wheel on the axle and inserted it in the bushings and torqued it as the landing load would and I saw a lot of flex in the ply bulkhead.
So I epoxied a piece of fir in between the 2 nylon bushings then drilled the hole through the wood for the wire.

Oh.... I also have the elevators hinged & glued to the stabs.
A little black Sharpie does wonders to hide those white hinges !

So, you see, I have a fair amount done.
I want to get the other retract done and ailerons and flaps and rudder installed so I can see where I need to mount everything else to balance.

I am having to ask for my money back from RCOnly. They have not shipped the model and it has been 8 weeks. I hope I have not been taken in.

I believe I ordered mine directly from Nitromodels.com I think I received it in 2 1/2 weeks.

I just purchased a CMP Zero 80" 50 cc model. The engine is a DL 50 with a Pitts style muffler

I have several questions and I would appreciate your help.

- Servos: I want to use Futaba servos. Any suggestions on which servos to choose ? Recommend torque ?

- Cockpit: Have anybody seen a company doing a cockpit that would fit this model ?

- Retracts: I want to replace the fixed landing gear with some retracts. Anybody knows which retracts would fit this plane ?

I wonder if this Sierra retracts would fit

They are supposed to have 85 degrees for scale angles.

It looks like http://www.shindinmachine.com could have a set also (that would require some minor wing modification)

RCrOnly sales this plane and offers it with a set of Century Jet retracts. I have used Century Jet retracts before and never had a problem with them.

My plane is supposed to be shipped out today. I hope to have it buy this weekend. I will be using the Century Jet retratcs with mine.
