Re: New! OMP 56" Razor Yak ARF

I am looking for another profile. I currently have the Tribute 36 with an OS 45. I have been kicking several planes around. The OMP Razor, OMP edge 540 40 size ARF or a 40 size Mojo. How does the Razor fly compared to the Yak 65?

Probrodude if you are looking for a plane that will be good for your os 40 size motor than you would be so happy with the edge 540, i have had two of these and love them, i have one right now with the new color scheme and every time i fly it I see just how much more it will take in punishment. I also have the razor yak and it is nothing more than a big foamy, i love to fly it but i try not to get as crazy with it cause i dont wont to tear it up, but it will do things that you have never seen or thought of before.

Now dont forget we have new 47" yaks coming in March along with the 47" fusion

Can't wait to see what these will do

Thanks for the insite. I would consider myself a novice 3d pilot. I have a Saito 91 and a Saito 82 that are in need of a good profile. What can you tell me about the Yak 47? Is the Fusion more of an all round plane? What prop do you have on the Edgge 540. What do you have on the Razor?

Thanks Mark

Re: New! OMP 56" Razor Yak ARF

Well on the 47" yak i dont know, but from video and knowing the plane is built just like the edge i can only think that it is going to be one of the best planes we have. i think the tapperd wing will help with the rolling part of 3D

The Fusion is an all around plane, it looks and flys like a pattern plane but still has the control surface to do nice 3D, you would go wrong with this plane

The razor yak i love so much, it does things i just cant belive, i throw the sticks and just watch it tumble over and over. But it can still fly a stright line with out hunting, big concern for me due to the long tail monment, this plane flys tail havey and loves it

On my 47" edge i run a 12.25/3.75 apc prop, this is a good prop for any 40 size motor. i also run 30% heli in it for the power.

Let me know if you have any more question. i will do my best to answer

I should have the 40 Size Yak complete in a couple of weeks. We have the kit versions but the ARFs should be built about the same way! Hopefully I will have pics up later this week.

IMO it don't get any better than a MoJo 60. Use that 91 Saito on it.

No plans as of right now. Mostly focusing on the new 70" fusion.

Weren't the RazorYak ARFs kinda turdilicious? The kit built Razors I've seen are sweet planes, at least for their day, but a MadYak or RadYak would easily outfly a RazorYak ARF…. and, they're not unobtanium!

Hey, Jake… why don't you just come fly my EE60 someday? It was built by the creator of the RazorYak himself, and has some neat EE-isms that I'll bet you'd enjoy!
