Trans battery ??

It is getting harder to find Lipo transmitter batteries for my Futaba 9c . Why can I not use a standard flite battery from a electric airplane and just change the leads to futaba.
Thanks Ted

No Issue using a LiFe battery they work great. you will need a 3 cell so 9.9volt.

LiFe is a better choice than a lipo , plus there a better voltage match.

I have been using one of the hobby king Tx liFe battery in a JR Dsx9 works brilliant

I don't have any of the older transmitters still in service but when I did, the Eneloop batteries were my choice. Little or no self discharge, good capacity, reliable, long life, etc. and no LiPo dangers. LiFe in newer transmitters. I don't want a LiPo battery in my transmitters!

Lipos in Tx are a No No for me to

Eneloops were a great option i forgot about them, The LiFe will give a lighter transmitter too.

Plus 1... on the Eneloop. I called batteries America and told them what I needed and they built a Eneloop to suite my needs.....love that battery....holds a charge longer than other similar types.

I should have said I am in Canada and we just cannot pick the phone up and get batteries shipped across the line. Even getting batteries from other Province is a hassle.

My Pack has 3 Leads, One of those special connecters that plugs into the Tx and then a Jr fitting and then the balance lead.

I could charge via the Tx Bullet dc connector but i still need to plug in the balance.

So what i do it i slip off the cover but leave the battery in and just change via the Jr and the Balance Very easier and no fussing around. Tx can stand up while i do this.

if there was room i could put in a self balance circuit and then charge only via the tx charge port. But no reason to every remove a Life pack for charging.

However 1500mah pack on a Dx9 last like 8 hours plus

there are packs with only two leads and I know that many ignorant do take the battery out for charging.
the DSX9 power drain is well under 200mW it's not like Lipos for electric motors that pull a lot of amperes so there is actually no need to balance it during every charge.

There was a specific pack with built-in cell balance circuit
