Question
First twin electric.

Building the 81" OV-10.
With an electric motor and ESC in each nacelle I was told that I cannot run an extension cable from the battery in the fuse. To the nacelles. It would need to be one 6 or 8s with a y cable to each ESC. Or do I mount a battery in each nacelle and run a y cable from each ESC to the receiver.

Mine is a smaller twin. A TwinStar but I ran a Y to each esc to the battery in the fuse as in picture. I also have the aileron servo lead. But there are 2 esc leads to the Rx for throttle because I did programing with conditions to have independent control of motors. I have each motor alone then both motors together also when in taxi mode with rudder input the inboard slows outboard increases.
A snap roll in taxi mode is wild and knife edge with what would be the motor closest to the ground is killer. Oh my radio is the Futaba 18SZ

Need the esc’s close to the battery. Extend the motor wires to the fuse. With extended battery leads you risk burning out you esc’s. I don’t think you want your batteries in the booms as this bird tends to be real tail heavy.

Castle Creations has Capacitor banks to solve the long battery lead issues.

Mount the batteries wherever you have good access and can CG the plane. The cap packs will fix any long battery leads. You can increase the motor to esc wires if you need to.

Would love to see her in action. Sounds like quite an exciting model you have put together there. Any videos please?

I’m assembling the profly ov10 (71”) and used the esc package for the motionrc a10. This comes with two 100amp esc’s, capacitors and long length battery leads. Not sure it supports 8s but does support 6s. It’s roughly $100 which is a bargain compared to a complete Castle solution.
