Ya know, I've seen it depicted in art both ways

This scheme is somewhat controversial, many in the plastic model forums say it never existed, but other say it did, and those guys are Scale research nuts,,,, No one has been able to find photographs of that scheme so it's a question mark..

Cub yellow would probably be good,, pretty close in color to the Planes Of Fame restoration

I didnt even read the instructions yet for the cockpit but it sure does look like a lot of cutting gluing and painting. Definitely not a beginner cockpit. I might just sell it because it looks overwhelming.

Engine mounts

DA 60cc,,
I have been told today by desert aircraft that they do not recommend using the
engine mount stand offs for mounting the motor to the firewall...
they tell me it voids the warranty on the motor... vibration problems.
HUH >>>>> any one hear this before>????
so I guess I am to figure out how I am going to mount the motor...
I have the wood spacer style but its only an inch thick. I need the mount to be
1 3/.4 thick...... I hear J tech has some but on the web site they are only an
1 thick......
then there is a person 3d hobbies.. he says he only has 1 1/2 aluminum ones made for the extra's so should I buy and use all wood or should I buy the aluminum and then use the wood to to achieve the desired thickness????
and what type of bolts do you guys use?

Things happen in LIFE.

Hey guys.. for anyone thats interested in this thread I have not worked on the Zero at all.... I had emergency surgery.... on my left hand and arm....
Any ways I am healed up now.... and back to working on other planes that I have neglected since I am back flying again...
You sure take the use of your hands for granted when you cant work on your Planes...
I will be getting back to work on the Zero soon.....
I want more info about the balancing weight... if the Nose needs more weight then why not use usable weight .... maybe go with a bigger motor....
I already have the Desert Aircraft 60cc anyone hear of anyone else using a bigger motor?

So I have takin the next pic so it can be shown that although TF says that the Best
Pilot was designed for this plane, it simply just doesnt do it for me for the scale
realistic side.
All the pics I have reviewed the feet should be below the panel but not in this case.
it will work.. but just not scale
with that said I have reworked the frt instrument panel and I have the pilot fitting now,

Great work on that cockpit but the pilot's legs are supposed to go under the instrument panel not on it.

Hmmmm...... You guys haven't ridden with me, have you? You'd be bracing your foot on the dash AND the canopy!

I did flip through the thread but no I didn't read it word for word but that's all right long as you weren't riding with Tango which would explain the feet on the dash!!
