Hurry up with the punisment. Lots of power blenders. Fly it till the cyl. turns pink and then punish it some more.

I guess I really wasn't thinking about other 80 size motors, but rather what my DA 100 Turns. I think that I will be able to put the motor on the QQ 102' Yak 54 and have the same performance because of the weight savings. I talked to Brian and he told me that the motor is just over 4 lbs. Between 4 and 4.25. Also, please bear in mind that this is a perliminary motor, and not stock.
Everything is subject to change. He still wants to do some more work with the porting and the case, so specs will change.

For those of you that are thinking about the 85, bear in mind that the motor will be ready when Dave says it is ready. He wants this product to be a benchmark for DA. On the long list of reliable motors offered by DA. As always customer service is paramount for their business model. As such the 85 has many many new ideas incorporated in its design that aren't totally proven. Once it holds up to extreme punishment, then and only then will DA release it.

It is Rear Induction.

They have really outdone themselves this time!

If they are still making changes, it makes one feel like the engine won't be out for a while. I hope thats not the case!

I'm glad to hear it. I was planning on putting together an 80cc sized plane this summer, it's always nice to have more choices.

BTW Beavis, I was watching the DVD of the shootout tonight, and my wife came in while you were doing your 3rd freestyle round. She watched for a second, and turned to me and said "He's pretty good, you should try to fly like him". Thanks babe, I'll do that next time.

The cylinder material looks to be the same material as the BME's. Interesting. I Wonder what kind of muffler Mark was using?

Hi Guys
I have been waiting for the new DA 75-85 for a long time...I hope it is a great eng....however I must say that I have had 2 DA 50's and one 3W 55....the 3W is by far the most powerful of the 3.....I have a Lanier Yak that I would like to power with the DA 85....anyone have any knowledge of the price?

I spoke to Dave and his words were "we want them to be on the shelves and available by Toledo". The toledo show is in April.
