I believe, this motor is not broken in yet, and that may be too much prop for her. I am now looking for a 26 x 10 2 blade.

I will post more data later.

So far, I am amazed at how it is not a shaker, as others have stated.

Mine didn't shake much either, Cam. I really liked it.

I started with a 26x12, but she didn't slow down to my liking on landing. I went to a 26x10 and that problem was solved. Tons of speed and lots of fun.

Thanks Anthony. I flew her 4 times yesterday. I ordered a 27 x 10 prop and a 26 x 10 prop, but they have not arrived. In my trailer, I found a 24 x 14 prop, and drilled it out and tested it.

On the ground, I was able to get 6150 rpm. the DA manual states, do not worry about over revving, but to break in, should get at least 6200 rpm. With the three blade Mejzlik, i was only getting 5600 rpm.

The airplane flies way better than with the 62 cc motor. This airplane has come alive. I am really enthusiastic about how she will fly once we get the right prop on her.

this data was with ambient temp at 100 F. Altitude is 250 feet. gasoline = 93 octane, no ethanol, Redline oil 40 to 1.

Orthobird,

Are you running your DA 85 on stock mufflers or a canister?

Don't think I can put a da 100 on a extreme flight 91" airframe

That's what i did. It adds every bit of a pound. Changes certain flight chatacteristics a bit but still flies awesome. Harriers are good hovers are great it pulls out immediately. Low high speed passes are sick. I fly the plane as hard as that motor can pull it no issues yet. Just something diff to fly.

Oh man, that is amazing!! I did not know that could be done. So the motor fit within the cowl?

Its so close i cut a square on one side for the head and a small cut on the opposite for the plug. Thought i would hate it but Its actually not so bad. I didn't mind doing it because the plane was used and had 3 motors installed. It's kind of my beater plane.

I really like that! It is awesome. I just installed the canister and got my wood prop! I am getting over 6300 rpm on the ground!! Can't wait to fly her. This is a falcon 26 X 10.
