Rebuilding my Wild Hare

Everyone said ďdonít bother.... just buy a new oneĒ. Well first off, they donít make them anymore, and secondly being glutton for punishment I said Iíll rebuild it. So hereís what Iíve done so far. Keep in mind the whole front was missing and I had no parts to go by. seems to be coming along fairly well so far. If anyone is interested, Iíll continue to post pictures

Nice work cotman007. I did the same thing with a 37.5 TOC Yak that is no longer in production but is one of the best flying/looking planes I have ever owned imo. Hate to see guys just chuck a damaged airframe that is totally rebuildable/fixable with a little time and effort. Some of the best flying planes I ever had came out of a garbage can! I'm interested in your final results! Very rewarding when your done. Keep the pics coming.

That's fantastic, I have a Pulse 125 in a similar state. How did you make the templates without any references?

rebuild

The only damage was to the nose of the plane. Wings and tail feathers were fine. As far as templates go.... kind of made it up as I went along. 15 years of flying rc helped. Thanks for the intetest.

rebuilding my Wild Hare

Did a little more. Got the gear plate done and the aluminum plates installed. Hopefully it will make it a bit stronger.

rebuilding Wild Hare

It's Gorilla glue. It's great for filling gaps in my slippy work. After looking at my landing gear block, I decided to put more reinforcement in thus the extra peice of akumunum. Landing gear mounted today and all seems good so far. Hope the damn things flys after all this

Mounted my ZDZ 80 cc engine today. Wanted to figure out where to put the servos for the chock and throttle. Also made a top for the engine box
