Battery Fell out of JR12x in flight

Lost a 35% extra few weeks back due to losing transmitter battery in a hover ! Just started drag race from hover and something hit me in the foot . Nothing to do but chuckle like who has had this happen. In need of fuse for 35% H-9 extra LOL

Matt

I've heard of this happening before. I think a back with a "penny" screw or some sort of thumbscrew would be nice for some added security.

Had the same thing happen to me....the pack backed off the pins and that was it. JR - Horizon put a bulletin out about this but i missed it too....double sticky tape now locks the pack in place....it was costly for me but that's life!

Interestingly, a club member had the same issue with his Futaba about a week later....the connection plug backed off the pins too....looked good but the connection was lost and he lost a 35%....things happen!

I flew Futaba for years. I was trimming a new airplane out and used my thumb to put in a couple of clicks of up. I inadvertently switched the TX off! Talk about feeling dumb...

Years ago me and my buddy Lew were going to maiden my Sig Kadet on ski's at his lake. He flew it for a minute or so and then yells "the transmitter battery fell out". I hurry and grab it and he is still holding the transmitter next to his belly like he is going to have a connection soon. I am kneeling on the pier and looking into the dark battery tray of a JR 10X. We prefabbed a new way for the battery iinstall nstead of that battery case thing the 10x"s had. Still needed the pin board and a battey wire connector. IMPOSSIBLE So he is standing there yelling "hurry" as the plane spins toward the lake and I am not even close to making a connection. Then he says too late.
I wish there was a video of this with him holding the transmitter in flying position, me on my knees looking up into the transmitter and the plane spinning down. And of course a guy in his boat out there watching it all. He did fish out the wing and fuse but motor and battery were gone. Lew says we can fix this and I say forget it. End of plans for the thrill of a plane on ski's flying over his lake.on a nice summer day. RIP Lew.
