I have a couple of Phoenix planes, in .40 glow and a 20cc MXS. They are very good quality for the money (and for a lot more) and the ultrakote is applied very well. I would have no qualms about the larger planes in their line.

Good to know.....I had thought they were a big NO NO.

The Chinese and Vietnamese ones won't hold up in my experience. I've used the Radio South hinges in many planes and they do well. I get a little nervous putting anything but a Robart or Dubro hinge in anything this large.

I had factory cloth hinging in my 1/4 scale GP Waco. I flew it most weekends for 2 years with a 40cc twin in it, no issues.

The Evolution E777 fits the estimated 10.2" cowl with it's 9.1" diameter. It is a glow engine

The super cub I had from Phoenix went back due to quality issues. It was built like crap and the details sucked. I have not tried other phoenix models so I don't know if I just got a random bad one or that's how phone is builds models. Might need to try Phoenix again.

Unless you cut up the wings and make the ailerons bigger (and double bevel them), 4 servos can't do anything better than 2. Roll rate on a Waco is SLOW. More servos doesn't change that.

Looks like an awesome plane. The Phoenix models that I have are built very well, and the covering is not the typical china cover.

I would also like to know the diameter of the cowl.........have a moki 180 and saito 84 that could use a new home :-)

Looks to me after reading the manual that it has two servos with struts connecting the bottom aerolons to the top. Looking at the picture of the full scale it looks as though that is the way it is configured.

This is a scale plane, not the latest 3D wonder meant to hover and do walls, etc. I'm thinking hard on this one and will go single servo per side if I get it.

put my name on the email notification, might have to give serious consideration to pull my Saito 60R3 radial out of my EF 91" Yak and put it in this plane. looking forward to flowing the "build" on FG to see what the cowl dems. are and if the ring exhaust will work.
