Dan Landis (Team Futaba Manager) told me they'd be in the US in Mid-November.

I pre-ordered mine 2 days ago

Have you gotten yours? Tower keeps pushing my delivery date.

So a Futaba team mngr says mid November.
Bummer, but ok I guess.
Wish I hadn't sold my JR so soon!

I won one the other day at a raffle,,, mid November is what I was told too.

Tower will often keep pushing the date out and then suddenly ship them "early".

I can’t wait to get one.

Keep in mind that often Tower is actually shipping radios before they show in stock because they are clearing back orders. So if you wait to see it in stock you may have a long wait. I always suggest placing an order. If you change your mind you can cancel, but at least that gets you a place in line.

I'm thinking of picking up an 18SZ or a 16SZ.. not sure which yet.

It really comes down to how much you really want those extra 2 trim sliders (T5 & T6) and if you can perceive a difference in performance between the sticks used in the 2 radios. The 18SZ comes with a LiFe pack, the 16SZ comes with a NiMH, which is reportedly giving great flying times.

Oh, and if you prefer a silver TX is a black TX. Functionally the software is exactly the same.

And there is a $400 difference to get those two physical differences.

OK.. Good to know. I'll probably grab a 16SZ then.. I'm considering moving away from JR and looking at other options. I have a DX-9, and a Graupner MC-24 Pro at home right now to play with and evaluate. I flew Futaba when I started in RC over 40 years ago, and they've always been at the forefront of radio development.

Or just check the classifieds. Ended up canceling my 16sz pre-order and snagged an 18sz for $50 more than the 16 retail. Cant really go wrong either way.

I have a JR28X and XG14, Spektrum DX9, and Graupner MC-24Pro right now.. Adding the Futaba 16SZ to do kind of a shootout to see which one I like best and make a decision on which brand I'm going to convert to.. I am pretty heavily invested in JR at the moment, but not afraid to make a switch if I decide I like one better.
