All the regular trolls have come out from under the bridge for this one lol. I personally don't think it's worth the extra cheddar, but Horizon sold plenty of DX18QQ's (admittedly not nearly as much extra), and what did ya really get extra/what are they worth now?

Doesn't matter--if it's worth it to ya, go for it!

Glad you like them - and if you think they were worth it, that is really all that matters.

Oh, and FWIW, the gimbals on the normal 18SZ are the same as the 18MZ.
Yes I am aware of the fact that the 18MZ gimbals are the same as the 18SZ and that is one of the reasons I purchased a 18SZ a couple of years ago. I just can't say enough good things about the new aluminum gimbals. I won my first Intermediate IMAC contest with that new Anniversary 18SZ radio the first time out with it. So I very much think it is worth the extra bucks.

Trolls go away. I have never purchased a transmitter because it was cheap or ever thought it was an investment. I know, it is like buying a new car and won't be worth much in time. The benefits some times out-weigh the cost and that has been my experience with the Futaba T-18SZ 70 Anniversary transmitter. I have flown airplanes equipped with JR28X transmitters and I favor the feel and control of my Futaba. I am not factory sponsored. I just wanted to share my experience with others.

Don't waste your time - the 18MZ and 18SZ both leave it in the dust.

That guy is the best advertisement for every brand except Jeti. The more he blabs, the more damage he does. Cheap advertising for the others.

I did the test drive program.

...and I went out and bought a 16sz immediately after.
This Futaba feels so much more natural in my hands.

Same here Vapor. Not the test drive program, I had a Jeti DS for 8 months and just could not "love it". Got the 18SZ and the ergonomics are streets ahead. At the end of the day, the radio you pick has to feel "right". Tested my 18SZ 70th Anniversary Edition today as well. Great radios.

Aus, what's your take on the aluminum gimbals. Can you share your thoughts. Thanks, George

Saw a Jeti for the first time ever at our field last weekend. Uglier in person than online.

If that is what you think of the box in person, just wait till you meet their rep!

I would probably smack him if he got too close to my table.
