My T18SZ 70th..Black anodised gimbals, super smooth bearings, Alps pots. Adjustment on the ratchet goes from none to super heavy, same goes for the smooth helicopter spring and you can mix any combination of both and get exactly the feel for you like You can change modes without taking the back off because Futaba have placed all the bits on both gimbals. I have the springs on my T16sz at max, but backed up a few turns on my 70th because you can go from virtually nothing to very strong and the touch screen is more responsive to use than the screen on my T16sz for some reason. I very pleased with mine. Gaz

either your 16SZ screen is getting old or it's a new REV V2 (same as the old 14MZ)

My T16sz has always felt the same, I have to push fairly firmly on it. My T18sz70th screen feel is a more responsive another plus point.

On the left is the T14SG, on the right is the T16SZ. At first glance, obvious similarity is evident. When comparing T18SZ and T16SZ, the cheapest solution for T16SZ was chosen and PCB topology is completely different. T16SZ has PCBs very similar to T14SG, gimbals are soldered, CPU is placed above RF module, which is not optimal location, s.bus connection has no voltage regulator, power circuit itself is simplified and has less filtering. All these things have T18SZ done differently and better. And really not, they are not the same, unless someone is blind.

Jesus Christ, if you don’t like the radio then move one. If you don’t like the brand move on. Every single thread on FG is ruined because of the same 3-6 people coming in and spewing their same garbage.
You really have no life if you just can’t wait to come in and destroy a Futaba thread. Futaba is over 70 years old and has finished #1 in every single category of the hobby many times over. They are not some piece of junk that comes in a harbor freight package. They may not be open source, but most of the flyers in this hobby don’t need or want open source.
I just want a radio that works. Futaba is reliable, simple to use, does everything our models need, and can get serviced if need be.

“Go away” it’s extremely annoying to try and help people or try to receive help and scroll through endless garbage.

I'll have to look into this. I had not heard anything of a "REV V2" screen

I don’t care for the other threads either about Jeti. So is that your game? Someone pukes in your favorite radio thread so you puke in others?

Just give it up. It’s annoying the majority of people on this site.

The Alps pots are essentially the RDC9010006. They are 10M turn pots and should never wear out. Pots are still preferable in radios that are to be used for pattern - F3A or IMAC. Hall Sensors have a huge hysteresis that must be programmed out at center stick. But if you are doing 3D they may be fine. Depends on what you expect to happen when you move the stick. These Alps pots cost about 4 times what a Hall Sensor chip and magnet cost. They are not installed in the 18MZ and 18SZ because Futaba is an old out of date company.

Just to be clear. I liked my Futaba radios, as Garret pointed out they do the job, and they are the best for putting together a complex task without having to get an IT degree - that is not disputable. My criticism has been intended to be constructive and a collection of consumer wishes. Admittedly, I was disappointed in the response to said criticism, so, as was suggested to me, I have moved on. No sense beating a dead horse.

Your criticism isn't helping anything, you're just trolling for a reaction, please don't associate yourself with me.

Similar here, I was talking about someone else and got mentioned.
