The 18SZ is a great radio. It is my "Go To" radio. I've got an 18MZ and have hardly used it since I got the 18SZ.

Get the 18SZ, great radio with lots of capabilities and fits my hands really well.

Hello.

Does anyone have the weight on the 18sz 70th w/ battery installed ?
are the dimensions same as the 14sg ?
found no weight or dimensions listed in manual
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks.

You know to me it feels a little heavier than my non 70th anniversary radio. I don't have a scale to weigh it, but a good guess it's about 4 oz. heavier than my standard 18sz transmitter.

My 18sz 70th aniversary weights, 34.78 OZ.
Don't know what the standard 18sz weights.

So reading through this thread. The 18SZ 70th has alu gimbals and High grade pots and the new 32MZ has New design plastic gimbals and Hall Sensors. Why?

They are not cheap plastic in the sense of a plastic cup. Nor are they like previous non-metallic Futaba sticks (which few ever complained about). No idea why Futaba made that design decision.

There is a 32MZ thread here as well:

I don’t understand all the hoopla over the plastic vs metal sticks. Over the decades I’ve flown some pretty darn good plastic sticks and some really crummy metal ones. The material they’re made from really isn’t important, how they work and feel is the most important thing.
