Currently I own and fly the JR 28X, XG14, Futaba 18SZ, Spektrum DX20, iX12, and DX9.

ALL of them are good radios.. I can't honestly find a reason not to fly any of them.
Dang Doug, that's a lot of hardware!

Yeah.. I bought the iX-12 because I like gadgets.. It's turned out to be a good radio. When JR went through its woes I started looking at other brands.. Hence the 18SZ and DX20.

I'm probably using the Spektrum stuff the most these days but not for any specific reason.. They all work great.

Unfortunately Spektrum offerings in high end radios is lacking. We have IX-12's at the field and I'm not impressed. The DX-20 is way more then I need and want to spend but it's the only other option left. Just checking to see if the bugs have been resolved and what other users have to say about it. While I like other brands, it has to be DSMX/2 protocol so please keep comments appropriate.
The only issue with the DX20 that I'm aware of is an SB to check the wiring harnesses on the gimbals. Some were improperly installed/routed and could cause a conflict with the gimbal operation or wear the insulation off some of the gimbal wiring. It's a great radio and I really like mine with the 20 channel PowerSafe rx's, AS3000 gyro module which is only $65.00.

The Futaba 18SZ is also a nice radio with lots of capabilities and feels almost exactly the same in my hands as the DX20. Since I have both, I will say that IMHO, the gimbals on the Futaba are smoother.

I don't find the radio to be slow. I don't power down, I only put it in sleep mode. I also don't run many apps on the radio.
a software upgrade will NEVER fix the lack of hardware performance
I can easily ridicule you with plenty of videos like this one.

Problema ao iniciar o SPEKTRUM IX12 (1 min 0 sec)

you forgot to mention that only the first 12 channels are 2048 resolution
the only low-resolution channels are the X-Plus channels on the DX18 and DX20

Lucky day, a JR 11X kind of fell in my lap for a price that was irresistible. We fly tomorrow!

Iíve had the 20 since it came out. Other than having to send it in twice for recalls it has been an awesome radio.

I've had mine for a while, no recalls on my series, so it was only a small portion of the total radios that got recalled, and hey they fixed them for free and sent a call tag. Big deal

Horizon sells different colors ones so people can customize the radio to their liking.. I think a set of stick ends is like $15

Had mine for a bit now. Coming from my precious JR 12X; gimbals feel similar. One of my favorite features of the 12X was the weight/dense feeling of the case. IMO, nothing will ever feel as good, but this radio has a bit of heft, so I like it... Primarily bought it for the ability to update firmware, save models, etc as the 12X was lagging behind/no longer supported. I also want to experiment with the AS3000 Gyro which is said to easily interface with the newer PS receivers. So far, so good.
