At first when I saw the video it appeared that the aircraft would normally have recovered right before the inverted spin. However, watching the video and numerous other videos from his routine it appears that coming out of the Lomcevak Bryan would exit 180 degrees from the entrance heading. Looks like the secondary stall/spin happened where he was wanting to exit the maneuver but due to the excessive altitude loss from the unintentional inverted spin it may have resulted in a more aggressive recovery resulting in the secondary stall/spin. Just another possibility. Horrible thing. Bryan will be missed.

RIP Bryan. It does look like something happened in flight. Maybe a stuck stick or cable broke. From the video it looks he was trying to pull but possibly the rudder stuck and it just would not come out because of some malfunction. Sad to see.

Not to be gruesome, but there's nothing the rescue crews could have done in Bryan's case. He was gone the moment he hit the ground.

Agreed. Like you said, not to be gruesome or even insensitive, but the impact could hardly be survivable. At least everyone knows he did not suffer.

Another bad day today. Todd Green fell to his death from John Moehr's Stearman while attempting a wing walking transfer from the Stearman to a helicopter at the selfridge airshow.

HARRISON TWP., Mich. -- A stunt man at the Selfridge Air Show fell hundreds of feet to the ground Sunday as he attempted to go from a plane to a helicopter, according to a spokesman for Selfridge Air National Guard Base.

Technical Sgt. Dan Heaton said Todd Green fell about 200 feet to the ground while performing at about 1:30 p.m.

Green was taken to Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center, where he later died.

Green is a Michigan native who started performing aerial stunts over a quarter century ago. Green is the son of legendary hall of fame aerial stunt man Eddie the Grip Green. Todd is one of the only two second generation aerial stunt men in the airshow business. He has performed at airshows across the country and in Canada and has worked with many of the greatest pilots. His current act involves him literally leaping from the an open cockpit of John Mohr's original stock stearman Bi-Plane to the skid of Otto the Helicopter.

He was married with two children.
