Question
Death wish or Bad Ass Pilot?

Student Pilot Forgets Everything On First Solo Flight (9 min 11 sec)

OMG!?!?!?

Quote:
This is a Beaver RX35 at King George airfield in Surrey, BC. I flew this aircraft many times (although not quite in this manner . Designed by Larry Croome and Dennis Martin this single place Beaver with a 35 hp Rotax engine could do some amazing things. Right on takeoff I could climb about as close to straight up as you can do in any aircraft except a helicopter.
In 1986 I was chosen as the Flight Leader of the 'Northern Lights, a six plane flight demonstration team sponsored by the company.

The dihedral makes the airfoil more stable, so it wants to return to the "neutral" position. Thus, lateral moves like snap or aileron rolls become more difficult, if not impossible. I think that the RX 35 had about 3 degrees of dihedral.

Unless there is a bigger version of the same, it is a full scale. I'll bet full scale cri-cri is smaller than that.

Oldie but a goody. That's just a pilot that knows the performance of his ultralight and ain't scared to show it. Looks like a blast!

I have flown several ultralights and that beaver in the video is capable of that..
I used to have a quicksilver MX super and pulled loops, chandelle's, and whip stalls.. I think it was rated around -6 g's.
Needles to say later I got married and my ultralight aerobatics ended..
