you must be talking about a smaller airplane. High voltage don't have internal BEC's

I ended up installing the baffles.

I have been flying 3D models for 10 years. I have had two fires, and three cold soldering joints. All of which happened on 50cc or bigger.

I think the issue is soldering thick wire with crappy soldering irons. If you don't take your time, and soak with solder, and use flux, it could make for a bad joint.

Also the amp spikes from 50cc electric and bigger are crazy high. That can blow ESC's rather quickly. The only other application I have ever had these issues in, is in my F5B models where I have amp spikes of 250a. Poof!!

EF recommends balancing on the wing tube using heavy string. Just leave an 1/8" gap or so between each wing and the fuse, fit a string around the wing tube, then lift the airframe. Move your batteries fore or aft to balance. Then make final adjustments after your first flight. This method will hold true whether you're using a gas or electric set up, or a push-pull rider or pull-pull.

Does this help?

I always joke that DA-70's are so cool looking that I'd like to buy one just to have as a static display on my desk LOL.

pull-pull

I have a clunky pull-pull going on. It is like swinging a rusty barn door and very jumpy upon release of the input

The geometry is good, wire crossed, swb offset arm, rudder swings freely. Can't figure it out, unless it's my servo.

Any suggestions?

So the throw is jumpy and the servo is hunter for center when you zero the input, right? I'd try swapping it with an elevator servo and see what happens. If the servo carries the issue with it, then it's the servo.
