I am in need of some input on which cad programs you guys have found to be the most useful for r/c plane design. I was thinking that a program that would be able to pull parts (formers,ribs,etc) for the drawing would be the most precise and easiest to make useful plans from.
Surfacing would be a bonus. As would any aerodynamic calculators.
I browsed through the threads but most of them seem to be at least a few years old.
Any and all input is welcome and greatly appreciated.

You can download Onshape free, it is similar to Inventor.

I ended up getting sketch up. Its pretty easy to use and makes some pretty amazing drawings. I also got autocad 2016....that one is going to take a few night classes at the community college to learn.lol

you're definitevely using the less performant CADs at all...
You should try something like CATIA or at least Solid Works where you can design till the smallest details of your plane!!! Working with 3D Digital mock Ups just like in the "real" airplanes industry givos you lots of advantages and trust me: they're not so difficult to learn.

I'm using Fusion 360 and Solidworks. Fusion seems MUCH easier to use to me.
