Hi all, I am slowly building an old fashioned wooden 33% Extra for a DLE 111, my question is what is a good starting point for the engine thrust line? I was thinking along 3 degrees right and 1 1/5 -2 degrees down. Does that sound fairly close?

My 100in Extras currently with a DA100 are running about 3deg right no down thrust. zero zero wing and tail incidence. Ewan

3 deg right ...0 deg down When you have the C.G neutral you can mix in at full power about 2 % right rudder and 1 to 2 % down elevator at low trottle helps keep the down lines straight. If you have too much right trust the model does not roll axially. Give me a ring at some stage if you have any problems... ... H.G

hey you might need some bigger wheels on that bad boy !

I run 2.5 side thrust these days, and depending on the wing position, you probably need a tad of up thrust, but do that with a washer after the test fly.

Nope, it's an old R/C Extras, Extra 230. They're a little shorter than the 330. From what I can tell, R/c Extras just did 3 kits at 25%, 30% and 33% all with the same basic structure.

I sold one of these I had a while ago. Kinda kicking myself for doing it now... LOL Thats life!

nice is it a foam core wing or built up with full sheeting?

If it is like the one I had, each wing panel is made up of 3-4 chunks of foam you glue together with the spars. The ailerons and elevator are really small and would not be effective for 3d. Good for pattern and general flying. That's the main reasons I sold my kit. I had 2 sets of plans so I figured if I was going to build one it would be so modded that the original kit was useless to me.
