Another version of "force feeding" a stubborn/sticky carb, is to use the fuel pump you fill the tank with. Plug the vent line on the plane's tank and use the fuel pump to pressurize the system. Provided you have enough pressure you can watch the fuel work its way to the carb. You can "guess" when it reaches the internals or wait for a drip with a downward facing carb. This is handy when you don't want to take things apart as well as any time a plane sits a bit and doesn't want to cooperate. Pressure too low? Rock the prop while doing this and the extra pressure combined will help here as well.
