Don't use Tygon at all, Viton will never need replacement.

McMaster should put you on commission for all your Viton recommendations. Good stuff! Been using it for years.

I know, really! I use McMaster-Carr for tools, fasteners, whatever, at home and work.
I don't understand why Tygon is so popular for this application, it starts degrading immediately. I cut 2 pieces of Tygon and put one in a Mason jar of gas. It grew overnight as compared to the other piece, whereas Viton is totally unaffected.

its the gas . pump gas is blended and tygon was made for gas that isn't blended. I use Sunoco race gas in all my toys with tygon and never have dried or cracked hose. it must be the fuel

The test I mentioned above was with 100% gasoline, no alcohol no lead. I donít even use Tygon externally to the tank anymore. Even on the fuel dot, Tygon takes a set over the bump on the fuel dot, Viton doesnít.
