Near as I can tell, no glue or very little glue was used on my hatch. I can not see or feel any glue residue at all. Zero damage to the wood either. Any decent glue would end up doing something to the wood if it was ripped out.

Not a huge deal, but I will be checking it big when the replacement arrives.

l used IC-2000 (black rubberized CA) but think I will now add a little epoxy. Before the CA the hooks seemed to be lightly attached and the epoxy will make them permanent.

I can see the factory glue in most places but there are some gaps. i keep hearing the factory glue is hot glue but I have no idea. I brushed thinned epoxy on all the glued areas when it came out of the box but might go back and look at the landing gear area of the fuselage.

get some hysol and a long mixing tube then you can add flexible tubing to reach any corner or questionable joint. i have used CF rod taped to fuel line and the hysol gun to reach the tip of a 35% carf wing from the root

cowl back from getting clear coated. 2 coats then sanded to remove OEM tape lines, 2 more coats, wet sanded, graphics applied, 4 more coats of clear to seal graphics, wet sanded and polished.

my rattle can white and 2K clear on rudder control horns look nice. what i like the most is alcohol does not affect epoxy cleanup so the control horns look nicely installed.

William, have you used these louvers before? They look like the same ones as on my EF110" Yak w/DA120. They tend to break after a couple dozen flights. Wondering if you have had better luck?

these are the aluminum louvers and I had them on my Mamba 70 for nearly three years with no problems.
I wonder where and why your tend to break? Any pictures?
I made backing plates for them and maybe that is helping?

I know what I'm doing wrong. I have backing plates but only on the long sides, not all the way around. Seems obvious now, duh!

initial pull-pull setup completed. I also noticed that the canopy screws would crush the fuselage when tightened so ended up adding shims on both sides so the canopy would fit ever so tightly.

hehe - now when I tightened the canopy screws I begin to see the dang lightening holes in the fuselage skin. Doubt I will address this further and keep moving on.

One of the problems with the canopy screws is that they are not perpendicular to the outside fuselage surface.

I use conical bonded sealing washers with all my exterior screws and maybe the rubber washer helps with the angle? They also never come loose, no locktite required, and hardly leave a mark.
