Yeah I fixed that with the dremel but then got into the muffler issue. I just ordered the muffler and got here on Saturday now I regret not contacting JTEC and ordered one that would fit inside the cowl

That sucks! Do we know for sure the jtec’s will fit without additional cutting? I don’t want to cut the cowl for the mufflers either..

I have the stock mufflers from DA but I’ll sell them and order the jtec’s if they will fit. There’s also the J&A’s which I’ve never heard of and don’t know how they compare size wise to the DA and Jtec’s.

Mufflers???

Jtec (standard) and Slimline (DA Stock) don't fit. It would be nice to know what does fit without cutting the cowl.

Come on SupaTim....what did you use?

Hey DCDave, I can't tell for sure from the engine mounting picks but can you tell me if you needed to use any of the spacers that come with the Blaze DA70 mount. I'm getting close to mounting my engine.
Thanks
Tom

I had to use both of the black spacers that came with my Blazing Star mount for a proper spinner gap on my DA-70.

LOL...dang! Poor Tom, now clear as mud for him.

That's pretty weird that we both have DA-70's and mine required two spacers just so the spinner didn't rub on the cowl, and yours was fine without. In the end the split cowl makes pre-fitting pretty easy. Just pop a couple of motor mount bolts through the top the holes with and without the spacers with the bottom half of the cowl mounted. Then throw your spinner back plate on to see how it lines up.

This is the difference between a stable IMAC performance to a wild and squirrely 3D performance.

The root cord is measured at the fuse median, so it's tough for some guys to guesstimate. If you give me the wing panel root length, the tip length, and the spar length of one wing panel, and confirm the overall wingspan, I can give you the correct root cord measurement.

For 3D, set the static margin to 8, and for IMAC, set it to 14-15.
Thanks Jim. I didn't know of that calculator

If you can post some pictures, it would be helpful for us who are considering our options other than the stock DA mufflers.
