It showed how to punch a hole in your tx case and ad switches for dual rate. It was trick back then...

I remember that article! Also for servo reversing, changing the positive and negative wires on the servo motor...

1. High rate (is number one on the list) Which all it is is hammertime
2. Roller rate
3. snap mode
4. IMAC rate (low rates)

so If I am flying at LOW rates, and my manual switch is switched to "low rates", then if i get the sticks in the "right" condition, it will activate the snap modes.

However, if I flip to roller rate or high rate, it will only do just that, it can never activate the lower conditions.

Also, i can set my "trim" and my "mixes" to each and every flight mode individually. SO for example, on my IMAC rate, I have maybe 2% rudder to elevator mix and 1% downline mix.
When I flip to roller rate or to hammer head, i deactivate the mixes, so that way there is no elevator input during rudder movement in those two specific maneuvers (rollers and hammerheads)

Great observation Heliflyer
I can definitely see why with the down line mix but with the rud-elev mix, wouldn’t you want to leave that in for rollers to help with tracking while using rudder inputs? Have you noticed negative effects from leaving it in? Curious, still trimming my plane

Yes, I should have clarified this. My rudder to elevator mix is also combined with a rudder to aileron mix, this may be like 1% also. A very small amount.
I believe you can now see what happens if rudder to aileron mix is still on during a roller.

If you do not have a rudder to aileron mix, then I guess with doing a roller, you can leave the rudder to elevator mix on.

I leave my RE and RA mixes on all the time....no switch. I do have up line and downline snap "boost" conditions set up on throttle position.

My rudder mixes are turned off in my hammerhead condition. I found that I was coming out crooked with them on.

i use a futaba 18MZ and do the same with conditions, the only difference i see is that i use 3 logic switches.

Rudder, Aileron and throttle

the added advantage of throttle in the mix is i set an upline, horizontal line and downline snap condition based on throttle setting. generally increasing aileron and reducing elev at high throttle for upline snaps, and decreasing ail and increasing elev on downlines. But each plane needs a bit of work and a LOT of flights to get these right.
I always try to get the best possible snap on an upline without slowing or burying the plane too much in the sometimes long unlimited upline manouvres
