How much difference in temperature was the V1? I have a new blue V2 and noticing the left running maybe 20-30° hotter, have to check more closely next flight.

GP 123-V1 vs V2

I have a V! GP123 which I bought when they came out. It's in a plane but I have never ran it. I have heard that the V2 corrected some issues and that GP might have been offering to replace any V1; but I imagine they are no longer doing this. What were the problems with the V1 and is there anything that can be modified on my engine to bring it to V2 specs?
Thanks in advance,
Bill

The v1 had a fuel distribution problem and ran hot on one cylinder. The crankcase and reeds were changed. If you want to send it in you can contact me at

Trying to cruise this (long) thread for headers / canisters to reduce dBm in an Extreme Flight Laser...

Are there header pipes made for this engine?

Thanks...

DA120 headers will work with the planebender adapter plates.

Much appreciated gentlemen; I'll assume you both are referring to these headers:

Do you recall the header drop that worked with the GP 123 V2 / 104" Laser?

Thanks...

Those are the 100 headers..you would want the 120 ones..for those adapters. I believe 70mm drop is required. According to manual..its 70mm drop

The dropdown shows the 120 listing. Thanks kindly for the 70mm drop value!

I have 2 sets of DA120 headers that I bolted directly without any adapters. So far it is working fine. Only about 50 or 60 flights though.

Just a FYI, DA100/EME120 headers work well. Just a little gasket matching of the opening and have to round file the bolt holes in towards pipe about a mm each side. No adapters needed. No leaks with factory gaskets either.

Cylinder temperature

I have GP123v2 that one cylinder heats up more than the other.
Measuring the temperature immediately after landing show the left front cylinder (looking from behind of the plane) is 17 degrees Celsius more than right cylinder (92c vs 75c).
I thought it might be related to airflow in the cowl, so I took it off and flew without it and after landing got 73c on the left and 55c on the right.
So I guess it is not related to airflow in the cowl.
The engine is pretty new, with 1 gallon on it.
Is this temperature difference normal? if not, any Idea what can cause this?
a few friends of mine with GP123s gets constant 75-85 on both cylinders after landing.. with only 3-4 degrees Celsius difference.
Hello everyone! , I have exactly the same problem, adjusting the air flow does not lead to any results. The engine now has about 16 ltr. gasoline. How did this be solved?

It's alright. I have it that way, and so does my colleague. This is due to the design of the engine type / boxer / One cylinder runs from a leaner mixture, the other a little richer. Here is the telemetry data from my friend's plane. /Report: #352/ ***winter***
