If it is a Goldwing kit it will sure be on the light side. GW are the lightest kits I've ever had. I'd be a GW fanboy if they were still in the business.
BTW, since they are very rare now, I ordered a GW Sbach 89" for my personal home stock about a week ago.

Yesterday, I had the Monokote red and silver matched by an automotive paint supply. Doesn’t look like $104.00, does it? Anyway, I sprayed a bit of the red on my sample and it looks really close. Close enough for me. These are base/clear paints and I think the match will be closer after the clear is on.

I've ordered many times from this shop, they used to carry a huge inventory of the less expensive brands, mainly Skyline and Goldwing.
I started 3D with these less expensive kits which helped me fly hard and low without fear of crashing thus speeding up my learning curve.
Today I'm glad I took that route.
I see many people around here flying the most expensive stuff way up high and in circles, I really see no point.

Finished the other horizontal and elevator. Now, only one wing and cowling/wheel pant paint to go.

Thank you, Sir! I finally did it. I had to stick a wing on. I was going to wait until they were both done, but I知 just not that strong, LOL!!

Looking at it again, I think I知 going with flat black on the gear and wheel pants. Not sure yet.

Yes, white is definitely lost on the scheme when viewed from above. I would remove the white and leave the original CF finish or paint in black. I would go with red on the wheel pants.

Small update. Got the wheel pants mounted. Been working on some other things. Should be back on this now. Got everything ordered to complete it. Re-maiden soon.

Started painting the cowling. The color match isn稚 great but it値l have to do. I知 just gonna go with it.

Got the grey metallic sprayed. Again, color match is not great but it値l do. Just have the white to go, then clear and then cowling will be done.

White is on. Now just pinstriping and clear coat.

Pinstriping done. Now just waiting for the white to flash, then I will shoot the clear.

Painted the base coat on the canopy. Still not a great match and different shade from the cowling simply because of a different substrate, but it値l do. I値l let these flash another day, then clear. Still irks me that Monokote discontinued their line of matching paint.

Clear is on. Very nice stuff. 2K clear in a can. Slight variations in the reds but close. No runs and almost no trash. Very pleased.
