I was able to walk through the AN-225 at an airshow many years ago. Very impressive.

Getting to see A-10 activity is an almost daily event right over the house low enough to see plenty of detail and the sound is AWESOME...!!!

I have seen many WWII airplanes up close in person but, The Foke Wolf D-190 is a very impresive machine. The sucker looks like it's doing 500mph standing still. This past weekend I was given a personal Tour of the American Airpower Museum located here on Long Island at the Farmingdale Republic Airport and, for the first time I saw the P-40 Warhawk and, it's tiny compared to many WWII war birds.

Sonic "Booms" were a staple at airshows back in the late 60's early 70's..... and I still remember them. At least the airshows I was at.... Eglin AFB mostly...

Great link and story! I had the pleasure of being at Dulles when they landed after the cross-country speed dash. They taxied to the ramp at the Signature FBO.....and THEN, I got to walk out around and under it .

Really, really wished I'd had my camera with me though

Amazing aircraft!
