Indeed its the only composite plane that I knew that kept the bevelled control surfaces and all other aspects of the wood frame. Granted it was a tad heavy and needed the carbon tube/landing gear to reduce the weight a bit it still flew amazingly well. The removable firewall probably added some extra weight that could have been avoided.

I only wish QQ would release it again with this new company flex innovations, in composite form again.

I doubt, that QQ will release another 100CC Yak.

Flex released the 35CC Yak, but it wasn't very succesful.

But who knows, Flex is the most innovative company on the market and release a wide range of aerobatic planes.

The Mamba and the Flexjets are awesome for example.

I have had many many CARF planes over the last 19 years....3.3M Yak, 3.0m Extra, 3.1m Super Xtra, 3.0m Extra 260, 3.1m Extra 330SC (Currently...love it), Ultra Lightning..and under construction is a Mephisto! Also waiting is a CARF Pitts!

I love my composite Airframes and CARF has always been there for me . Yes they have reorganized over the past two years and once again have a US warehouse of their own so it makes getting hold of the planes much easier. Ray LaBonte and Andy Kane are the two US reps. You can always email CARF directly as well.

I personally have never owned a Krill but the folks I know that do and have have had mixed results. Some love them, others have had major quality control issues...delaminated ailerons, warped ailerons, ect. Not much of that with CARF. Nothing is 100% all the time but if you have an issue I would say CARF is far more responsive overall. The planes that are coming out of the CARF facility now are the best I have seem to date. And as far as longevity...well I had my 260 for 10 years and sold it to a friend of mine..still looks like when I built it in 2007!

Horizon QQ Yak 54

The QQ Yak 54 was my dream plane but have settled with the CARF 2.6m Yak 55SP. Have 2x of them both are new in box. Also have a CARF 2.3m Edge 540. Really like the CARF models. Just need to find the time to build them.
