My friend offered this advice; "Pick the one you like the most. You'll fly it better than anything you do not like because you will fly it more...."

There used to be a lot more differences between the brands but anymore, as has been mentioned, it'd be pretty hard to go wrong with any of them.

Anyone know if the V3 Demonstrator has the cockpit and pilots like the rest of the new lineup?

Depends on what you want to do with it. If you are going to get low and slow and want good vertical with a DA-120 with stocks, the EF 104" Extra V2 comes out of the box at about 258.5 ounces so you can do a lot with it without turning it into a brick.

The 106" 3DHS Edge V2 is right there too at 263.2 ounces and the 105.5 Slick is right there too. This basically means a potential dry weight of 26.2 to with the DA-120 for the 104" Extra and typical power and control components with normal size Rx LiPOs with a IBEC for the ignition.

I think the new 103" AJ Slick with carbon-Kevlar is light but I don't have the full details. The 105"AJ Laser is about 285.2 ounces OTB, as a comparison.

I should have the PAU 105" Edge OTB weight soon. Another nice plane with a nice wing area and performance history, but put the fuse next to some of these newer planes with the wings off, and it looks smaller. Doesn't matter to me, but just as a weight comparison. I hear the Vyper is a winner too.

Yes, I concur, my new V2 Extra with DA-120 with headers and MTW75 cans is 26.4 pounds (AUW, no gas). I never weighed my 104 AJSlick, V1 Extra or 106 Edge, but it flys much lighter than those. It is the best plane I have ever flown.

I have had several 100-120 aircraft. Yaks, edges, AJ slick 104, aeroworks freestyle, the last one was a PAU viper. but just got EF extra 300 v2, it is by far the best aircraft I have ever had in that size. first it is by far the best made ARF, hinged and sealed controlled surfaces. the canopy is glued. great hardware package. So far i think it is the best flying plane i have had. Tgreen
